Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox born December 25, 1954, Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox are her parents. Lennox took classes in piano, flute and harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years during the 1970s. Lennox made it through on an allowance for students as well as working part-time to help supplement her income. Lennox was not content with her skills compared to the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox joined a group called Dragons Playground as the flute player in 1976. However, she left before the band was asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. She sang lead in The Tourists (a British popband) from 1977 to 1980. There she made friends with Dave Stewart who would later form Eurythmics. Lennox started working on Diva in 1992, her debut album as a solo artist. This album became a huge success, both in terms of the sales as well as the critical acclaim. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album came out in the month of October, 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs most loved blues and soul jazz tunes from her upbringing. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox published Lepidoptera a collection of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. This album is a companion piece to her album Now I Let the door open... art installation that was exhibited at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut self-released album. Annie Lennox is a Scottish musician and singer who was born on December 25th 1954. The Tourists were a new-wave group that had some popularity in the latter part of 1970s. In the following years, Lennox was joined by fellow singer-songwriter Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox began her own solo career when she released her first album Diva in 1992. It was the basis of many hit songs like Why andWalking through the Broken Glass. Medusa is her album of studio work from 1995. It has covers of some songs, including No MoreI Love Yous and A Whiter Shade of Pale. Six solo studio albums and one compilation album are the result of her efforts.
